DC power (installed capacity)

DC power refers to the total nominal power of modules installed in the solar park. DC Power is calculated by multiplying the number of modules by the nominal power of a single module. 

AC power

AC power refers to the electricity output converted from DC power by inverters to alternating current (AC power), which is suitable for grid connection or local consumption. AC power is the total installed capacity of the inverters. AC power is calculated by multiplying the number of inverters by the nominal AC power of a single inverter.

DC/AC ratio

The DC/AC ratio in solar parks is the ratio between DC power and AC power. DC/AC ratio is normally above 1. Modules are normally providing less power than the nominal power of the module, because the standard conditions are not reached (e.g. not enough irradiance or to high temperatures). Therefore, the DC side is oversized to offset this underperforming due to climate conditions. 

Performance ratio

The performance ratio in solar parks is a measure of the actual energy output performance of the system relative to its theoretical maximum output. It accounts for shading losses, temperature losses, and system downtime, providing insight into the efficiency and reliability of the solar park's energy generation.

Annual yield

Annual yield in solar parks refers to the total amount of electricity generated by the system over the course of one year. It represents the actual energy output of the solar park and is influenced by factors such as solar irradiance, panel orientation, and system efficiency.

Specific yield

Specific yield in solar parks is the annual energy yield normalized by the installed capacity, typically expressed in kilowatt-hours per kilowatt-peak (kWh/kWp). It provides a standardized measure of energy production efficiency, allowing for comparison between different solar park installations regardless of size.
